What’s New on FlailDek S4

Building on the proven reliability of the FlailDek FX, the new Trimax FlailDek S4 is a ground-up redesign of the platform, delivering lower ownership costs, broader versatility, and the reliability council and contractor fleets depend on.

So what’s new about the Trimax FlailDek S4?

Less Maintenance

The standout upgrade is a new sealed, maintenance-free roller bearing system, removing the roller greasing schedule entirely and cutting downtime for fleets. The castor mount pivot now runs on a replaceable bush that needs no greasing either. Grease points across the machine have been reduced to just the PTO shaft, rotor and height adjuster blocks. The gearbox extension is now oil-filled for longer life.

New to the FlailDek S4 is a replaceable liner that protects the mower body from damage, and it’s one of the easiest to replace in the Trimax range.

From fine turf to light brush

A substantially strengthened two-position converter flap, changed with two bolts in minutes, lets operators switch between a fine finish and rank growth or light brush in the same day. Cut height now runs from 0 to 110mm, with the rear roller infinitely adjustable, so one machine can handle a sports oval and an overgrown lot.

An improved belt guard using 3mm thick steel rather than the previous 2mm, makes it even more robust.

New optional Y-Flails are forged and reversible for double the working life and can mulch light prunings up to 25mm.

More jobs, one machine

Optional scarifying knives and a new negative height setting down to minus 25mm open up dethatching and scarifying without buying a second machine. The liner is also available in high-wear and mulch bar variants, both as bolt-in changes.

Easier on your tractor

A new double helical flail mount rotor cuts horsepower requirements by around 10% and runs 4dB quieter. The spiral rotor also makes tool access much easier when changing flails. Reinforced link arms and a shorter overall length bring the centre of mass closer to the power unit, making it easier to lift whilst keeping the same fitment as the FX. The FlailDek S4 is also now fully CE compliant.

A bolt-on gearbox with two preset positions improves driveshaft angles across power units, including John Deere fitment.

Together, these improvements make the Trimax FlailDek S4 more reliable, more versatile, and cheaper to run, ready to keep council and contractor fleets in operation longer with less downtime.
